How One Adult Learner is Reclaiming her Education

When Ashley made the decision to return to school as an adult learner, she faced the same questions many others do: Can I afford this? Will I get the support I need? Is this really the right time?

What she didn’t expect was a phone call that would change everything.

While researching scholarship options online, Ashley received a call from one of Operation Graduate’s Graduation Specialists. At first, she was skeptical. “I kept wondering, what’s the catch?” But the more she learned, the more she realized this wasn’t just another program; it was a real support system.

“They told me, ‘We stick with you every step of the way,’” Ashley said. “And I thought, wait, there’s actually a program that helps you like this?”

That moment launched a new chapter in her life.

Now enrolled in an online degree program in Health Information Technology, Ashley is building on her experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant to take the next step in her healthcare career. “I love caring for people,” she shared, “but I also wanted to use my skills in a different way.”

Ashley’s real-world experience gives her a unique advantage in the classroom. She’s found that subjects like medical terminology come naturally, and while balancing school, work, and life isn’t easy, the consistent support from her Graduation Specialist and instructors makes all the difference.

“You’re never alone,” she said. “There’s always someone checking in and helping you stay on track.”

Ashley is proof that it’s never too late to go back to school, and you don’t have to do it alone.
